Pharmacological Action
Antiparasitic drug.
Albendazole has broad-spectrum anthelmintic activity and is effective against nematodes, cestodes, and trematodes. Its mechanism involves binding to tubulin in parasites, inhibiting microtubule formation, thereby disrupting mitosis, protein assembly, and energy metabolism.
Indications
Anthelmintic.
Used for the treatment and control of internal parasites (nematodes, trematodes, cestodes) and external parasites in pigs.
Dosage and Administration
Mix with feed:
- Pigs: 1000 g per 1000 kg of feed
Adverse Reactions
Albendazole may have teratogenic effects.
Precautions
- Use with caution in sows during the first 45 days of pregnancy.
- Ivermectin is highly toxic to aquatic organisms such as fish and shrimp; do not contaminate water sources with residues or packaging.
