Pharmacological Action
Florfenicol exerts its antibacterial effect by binding to the 50S subunit of the bacterial 70S ribosome.
It inhibits peptidyl transferase, blocking peptide chain elongation and interfering with protein synthesis, resulting in bactericidal action.

Used for livestock showing:
- High fever
- Loss of appetite
- Depression
- Constipation
- Restlessness
- Dyspnea
- Cough

- Prepartum use (1–3 days before farrowing):
- Lubricates birth canal
- Shortens labor
- Improves natural delivery
- Increases piglet survival rate

- Promotes expulsion of placenta and lochia

- Extends reproductive lifespan
- Improves productivity
Withdrawal Period
- Pigs: 14 days
- Poultry: 28 days
