Sulfamonomethoxine Sodium Injection (Veterinary Use)
Pharmacological Action:
This product is one of the most potent sulfonamide antibacterial drugs. It has strong inhibitory effects against most Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Bacterial resistance develops slowly.
Sensitive pathogens include:
Haemophilus parasuis, Streptococcus, Brucella, Eperythrozoon, Toxoplasma, Pneumococcus, Staphylococcus, Escherichia coli, etc.
This product is well absorbed in vivo, achieves high plasma concentration, has low acetylation rate, and its metabolites have high solubility in urine, reducing the risk of crystalluria.
Dosage and Administration:
Intramuscular or intravenous injection:
- Swine & Sheep: 0.1–0.15 ml per kg body weight, once daily for 2–3 days
- Cattle & Horses: 0.05–0.1 ml per kg body weight, once daily for 2–3 days
- Initial dose should be doubled
