Drug Interactions
Concurrent use with diethylcarbamazine may cause severe or fatal encephalopathy.
Indications
Macrolide antiparasitic drug.
Used for prevention and treatment of:
- Nematode infections
- Mange (mites)
- Other parasitic insect infestations
Adverse Reactions
- In cattle grub treatment, dead larvae in critical locations may cause severe reactions
- Injection site reactions:
- Discomfort
- Temporary swelling
Precautions
- Do not use in lactating cattle and sheep producing milk for human consumption
- Do not exceed 10 ml per subcutaneous injection site
- Highly toxic to aquatic organisms (fish, shrimp); avoid environmental contamination
Withdrawal Period
- Cattle & sheep: 35 days
- Pigs: 28 days
