Drug Interactions
- When used in combination with aminoglycosides, the concentration of the latter in bacteria may increase, resulting in a synergistic effect.
- Rapid-acting bacteriostatic agents such as macrolides, tetracyclines, and amphenicols may interfere with the bactericidal effect of this product and should not be used concurrently.
Indications
β-lactam antibiotic.
Used for the treatment of infections in chickens caused by amoxicillin-susceptible Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.
Dosage and Administration
Calculated as this product.
- Oral administration:
Chickens: 0.2–0.3 g per kg body weight, twice daily, for 5 days - Drinking water:
Chickens: 0.6 g per liter of water for 3–5 consecutive days
Adverse Reactions
May significantly disturb the normal gastrointestinal flora.
Precautions
- Not for use in laying hens producing eggs for human consumption.
- Not effective against penicillin-resistant Gram-positive bacteria.
- Prepare fresh solution before use.
