Indications
Sulfonamide anticoccidial drug.
Used for the treatment of coccidiosis in:
- Poultry (chickens, turkeys)
- Rabbits
- Sheep
This product acts mainly on the second-generation schizonts of coccidia and also has some effect on the first generation.
It also has antibacterial activity against Pasteurella and Salmonella.
It does not interfere with the host’s development of immunity to coccidia.
Dosage and Administration
Drinking water:
- Broilers & turkeys: 3 g per liter of water for 3 days
Feed mixing:
- Broilers & turkeys: 6000 g per 1000 kg feed for 3 days
- Rabbits: 6000 g per 1000 kg feed for 5–10 days
Oral administration (sheep):
- 2 ml per kg body weight (prepared as 10% solution) for 3–5 days
Precautions
- Not for use in laying hens producing eggs for human consumption.
- Continuous administration via drinking water should not exceed 5 days.
- Not for long-term use as a feed additive.
